Assistant City Librarian
Los Angeles Public Library
Susan Broman is the Assistant City Librarian at the Los Angeles Public Library. She started her career as a children's librarian, and has been fortunate to hold a wide variety of positions, work with fantastic teams, and contribute to a number of projects over the past 23+ years. Highlights include introducing graphic novels and comics into the library system for the first time, piloting self-service check out, forming the innovative Emerging Technology Think Tank group, bringing expanded bandwidth to the library, and contributing to the design of innovative spaces in the library. She is interested in how technology affects the lives of members of the community, and how the library can help people gain access to the tools they need.
Besides working in and thinking about libraries, Susan enjoys tacos, origami, learning about technology, exploring new music, trying out organizational systems, and wandering around the art museums and galleries of her beloved Los Angeles.
